Harsh Words, “Trump is a Fraud”

Harsh words from former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders came as he told CNN’s Jack Tapper on “Sate of the Union” that “This guy is a fraud,” referring to President Donald Trump. He accused Trump of falling short of commitments to middle-class voters, pointing to his Cabinet and senior advisers’ ties to Wall Street

Harsh Words About Trump

WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 28: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) addresses a rally in support of Social Security in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill March 28, 2011 in Washington, DC. Sanders and four other Democratic senators, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), said the Republicans' entitlement reform plan will "dismantle Social Security, delay distribution of benefits to seniors." Sanders also said, “This guy ran for president of the United States saying, ‘I, Donald Trump, I’m going to take on Wall Street – these guys are getting away with murder.’ Then suddenly he appoints all these billionaires.”

“He is a good showman, I will give you that – he is a good TV guy,” Sanders added. “But I think he is going to sell out the middle class, the working class, of this country. It is hard not to laugh to see President Trump alongside these Wall Street guys,” Sanders added.

Part of Sanders comments are based on some of Trump’s choices to fill key vacancies. For example, he chose Steve Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs trade and hedge fund manager, as his treasury nominee. Billionaire and former banker, Wilbur Ross, was pegged as the treasury secretary nominee. Goldman Sachs executive Gary Cohn was nominated to lead Trump’s National Economic Council.
