Home for Six People

The most expensive house in the world is located in Mumbai. It has a name, Antilia. It stands 568 feet tall. It is owned and occupied by one family, of six people, that of Mukesh Ambani. He is an Indian business tycoon as well as the richest person in Asia. Some of the inhabitants of the city were moderately horrified, while it was being built, learning that just one family would live in the mansion while more than half of the people living in the area survive on $2 per day. The name of the home comes after a mythical island in the Atlantic Ocean. It was designed by Chicago-based architects Perkins & Will.

Inside The “House”

As a normal building, standing at this height, it would offer about 50 floors. However, many of the floors offer very high ceilings, as compared to a normal building, of the same height, so this mansion has 27 floors. It also offers nine elevators. The total square feet in the house is larger than the Palace of Versailles – with 400,000 square feet.

Other Features

The house offers all of the amenities in luxury living. It also has a health spa, swimming pools, terraced gardens, a ballroom (80% of the ceiling is covered in crystal chandeliers that opens out to a large bar), dance studios, guest suites, a 50-seat theater, and a temple. Of course, it also maintains a staff. Each day 600 people work at Antilia to maintain the mansion. It has a six-level parking garage below the ground level. It can accommodate 168 cars. For those arriving by helicopter, it offers three helipads on the roof of the house. It was built on Altamount Road which is one of the most expensive addresses in the world.

Most likely another rich person in the world will build something which surpasses the cost and extravagance of Antilia, perhaps they will want to name it Antilia ll.
