The Voice UK To Begin New Season
The Voice UK will start a new season on a new TV station, with a new twist, with new judges. will.iam, Gavin Rossdale, Jennifer Hudson, and Sir Tom Jones will be on the set to judge the contestants on station ITV. The twist is leaving some people unhappy. In previous seasons, once the performer completed singing his/her song, all judges not pounding their button to choose the singer, turned around. They will no longer be allowed to turn around or to talk to the person. If all four of the judges do not choose to turn-around then none of them will see the performer or talk to him/her.
Will.i.am, The Black-Eyes Peas star has participated in all of The Voices seasons on BBC. He said it was a shock when he learned the show was moving to ITV. Will.i.am admitted he only agreed to returning for another season after learning Sir Tom Jones had also signed for the season.
Gavin Rossdale, lead vocalist with the band Bush, said, “I am so thrilled to be joining The Voice UK. I have always been extremely proud to fly the flag for British rock music and I can’t wait to join this incredible panel and help discover some new talent.”
Jennifer Hudson gained fame after appearing on the third season of American Idol. The singer has won a Grammy, an Oscar, and became a Broadway star. She said, “I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing panel of coaches on The Voice UK! the UK has always been so supportive of me since the beginning of my career…I can’t wait to get going and start developing each individual’s own sound.”
Sir Tom Jones has been a viewer favorite on the first four series of the show. He has sold more than 100 million records. He said, “I’m looking forward to returning to my big red chair on The Voice UK. I had some great times on the show and I can’t wait to again discover and help some brand new talent.”
