Trump Inauguration Committee Announces Schedule of Events
Trump Inauguration details have been released by the Presidential Inaugural Committee. The biggest events are just one month away, scheduled for Jan 20. The festivities will actually begin the day before at Arlington National Cemetery. President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence will lay a wreath. This will be followed with a welcome concert at the Lincoln Memorial.
Trump Inauguration Day Full of Activities
Trump and Pence will be sworn in on Jan 20 at the U.S. Capitol. They will also attend an Inaugural Parade to be held on Pennsylvania Avenue. The evening will bring about a number of inaugural balls the two will attend. The weekend will conclude with the National Prayer Service at Washington National Cathedral the day after the swearing-in ceremony.
Tom Barrack, the committee chairman said, “President-elect Trump is committed to unifying our country as we once again celebrate the foundation of our American system and the peaceful transfer of power. The 2017 inaugural celebrations will reflect President-elect Trump’s eagerness to get to work in order to make our country safer and stronger.”
President Barack Obama’s term of office ends at noon on Jan 20, 2017. When his term expires the new president will be sworn in to allow for a smooth transition. Obama will be serving his final hours of his second term. He will be completing the presidency as the nation’s first African-American to serve in the White House.
