Theresa May Says 2017 Will See UK Leaving the EU
Theresa May, Prime Minister of the UK, says that Britons must unite after their decision to leave the European Union. She had pledged to use the next 12 months to make sure the UK gets the best Brexit deal. She said that 2017 will be the year in which Britain starts the process of leaving the EU and getting “the right deal” for Britons.
Theresa May said in her message, “I know that the referendum last June was decisive at times. I know, of course, that not everyone share the same point of view, or voted in the same way.” Mrs May added, “But I know too that, as we face the opportunities ahead of us, our shared interests and ambitions can bring us together.”
The Prime Minister stated, “We have made a momentous decision and set ourselves on a new direction. And if 2016 was the year you voted for that change, this is the year we start to make it happen. I know the referendum last June was divisive as times. I know, of course, that not everyone share the same point of view, or voted in the same way. But I know too that, as we face the opportunities ahead of us, our share interests and ambitions can bring us together.”
