Spring Greets Us on March 20
Spring greets us next Monday. If you want to actually welcome the arrival you can do so by being awake at 3:28 am on March 20. That is the time and the date the vernal equinox marks the first day of spring. On this date, sunrise and sunset are about 12 hours apart everywhere on earth. Even so the daytime lasts a little longer than the nighttime.
Spring is the Season Between Winter and Summer
This is the season between winter and summer. To schoolchildren their thoughts circle around the fact that Easter break is just around the corner; and, summer vacation is not far away. To adults thoughts turn to warmer weather, bbq’s, vacations, and many other exciting times.
This is also a special time of year for nature as this is when life begins again. For human beings this is also a time of year to get rid of those winter blues and think positive thoughts about the future – after all, the Easter bunny will be visiting soon. This is the time to really start spending more time outdoors. Check out that plot of dirt in the backyard. You have always wanted to plant a garden. This is the year to do it. Check the cracking paint on the house. You have been thinking about painting for three years now. Do it this spring! Check out the planter running the length of the porch. You always wanted some beautiful flowers. Plant them! Do it! Spring can be magical. It kind of changes our mood, thoughts, and outlook on life.
