She’s Back: Clinton is Launching a Political Group
She’s back: after losing the presidency to Donald Trump last November, Hillary Clinton is back to join the resistance against him. She is founding Onward Together, a group to raise money for progressive-minded groups and organizations. According to People, Clinton has been meeting with donors and investors. The magazine reports that the former First Lady, Senator, Secretary of State, and presidential candidate is “fired up” with this new chapter in her political career.
Clinton is “Fired Up” in Her New Role
Onward Together is scheduled to begin operations next week. It will be a small organization with a limited number of employees. The main goal is to work with those trying to push back on President Donald Trump’s agenda. According to People, “This is something she’s really fired up about, the opportunity to help lift up all the groups that are working to harness the energy and activism since the election and turn it into action. She’s met with a lot of them, they’re organizing, recruiting young people to run, and giving them the tools they need to succeed, and she’s been inspired by it. So she’s going to be really focused on supporting these groups and their efforts.”
Clinton has already been participating in the resistance. During a Q&A session with Christiane Amanpour last Tuesday, she declared that she’s now a “part of the resistance” to Trump. She said, “I’m back to being an activist citizen, and part of the resistance.”
