Every December 19th, many people celebrate National Oatmeal Muffin Day. Similar in size and shape to a cupcake, recipes to bake these treats have been in American cookbooks since the mid 1800’s. People use different recipes, which may include extras, such as healthy fruits, raisins, bananas, blueberries, and other favorites.
Oatmeal Muffins Are Healthy and Delicious
National Oatmeal Muffin Day is a time to have a few healthy and delicious muffins. They are good for your health because oatmeal is known to lower cholesterol. Although the day is always celebrated on the 19th of December, in the United States, since these muffins are healthy for the body, you can indulge in having one with your coffee or milk on a more regular basis.
In observance of this day you might want to eat as many oatmeal muffins as you choose. It is also a great idea to bake some of these muffins to serve to your family. You might also want to share them at work or bake some for your child to share at school. If you want to do something nice for some special people you might consider baking some oatmeal muffins and taking them to an orphanage.
If you do not want to be bothered baking some muffins you can always go to most any bakery or coffee shop and order an oatmeal muffin. To add a little something special also order a large cup of coffee.
