Merry Christmas – Christmas is a sacred religious holiday. The day is considered to be one of the most festive Christian holidays in countries all over the world. It is a celebration of Jesus’ birth.
Merry Christmas, a Day of Joy and Happiness
Different countries celebrate in different ways; just as different religions celebrate in different ways. Some of the popular celebrations include homes with a decorated Christmas tree prepared days or weeks before the celebrations. Christmas cards are often exchanged between family and friends. Some places of employment offer a Christmas party to allow their employees to join together and enjoy the time together. When Christmas arrives it is often a time to exchange presents, sing Christmas songs, and enjoy family time together.
It is a particularly special time for children as they receive presents from family, friends, and, of course, Santa Claus. Can you imagine the excitement on a child’s face when s/he sees a shiny new bicycle sitting near the Christmas tree?
Many religions celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ whom they believe is the son of God. There is little information about his early life. His definite birthday remains unknown. The great scholars disagree on Jesus’ birthday. Some believe it to be December 25 while Orthodox Christians celebrate the day on or near January 7. Despite these differences it is a truly special day hopefully filled with peace and joy.
