Five-Year-Old Marries Best Friend
Five-year-old marries her best friend. She met him in pre-school when she was three. However, the story is filled with sadness. The girl, Sophia Dlyssa Chiappalone, of Connecticut, was born with a life-threatening heart condition. Recently Sophia and Hunter (her “groom”) joined together on a playground and exchanged “vows.”
Sophia’s Dream – to Marry Before Her Next Surgery
As Sophia faces her next surgery she had this “big wish.” It was to marry her best friend. The idea came from the young girl herself, and was happily agreed to by Hunter and his mom. The girl has already undergone two open-heart surgeries and a number of other procedures. Her request became shortly before her third surgery which is scheduled at Boston Children’s Medical Center, according to Yahoo.
Her mother, Kristy Somerset-Chiappalone, started the “Sophia Elyssa Chiappalone the beautiful baby with a broken heart” Facebook page where she explained Sophia’s case is severe and will require several open-heart procedures before it is completely repaired. She will most likely live a “shortened” life. Sophia will need a heart and lung transplant in the future.
Photographer Marisa Balletti-Lavoie of Sassy Mouth Photo captured the special moments in photos. Marisa is the best friend of Tracy, who is the mother of Hunter. Marisa said, “I was honored and excited to be the one to document the big day!! Thank you to Bliss Bridal for Sophia’s gorgeous dress and veil! Hunter, you are one cool dude! I could cry looking at all the joy in these images. It was my pleasure to help make your dream come true sweetheart!”
The mother said, “She’s a walking miracle. There is no life expectancy at this time because there’s no reason for her to be alive.
