Daylight Saving Time – Set Clocks Back an Hour
Daylight saving time ends tomorrow. What does that mean? Well, it means you set all of your clocks, watches and any time pieces back one hour. It also means you will have the luxury of sleeping for one extra hour.
Daylight Saving Time Happens at 2 AM
The actual change begins at 2 AM Sunday morning. That doesn’t mean you must stay up until that time in order to change your time pieces. Why not set them back Saturday evening before you go to bed? Most wireless devices, such as your cell phone, will “fall back” automatically.
Daylight Saving Time Starts Again on March 11, 2018
Daylight saving time returns on March 11, 2018. This is the day we will once again “spring forward” an hour. That’s not such a pleasant time as we lose one hour of sleep. Also, it should be noted that some places in the world do not “celebrate” Daylight Saving Time. These places keep their time steady all year. Many places have set their clocks on their own schedule. For example, California sets their clocks at a different time than New York.
According to the journal “Sleep Medicine,” traffic accidents increase on the Mondays after both the fall and spring time changes. Try to remember this when you leave for school, work or wherever on Monday. Another thing – remember your pets don’t know about the time change – most likely they will be hungry an hour earlier.
If you ever want to thank the person who developed this system you can look to Benjamin Franklin.
