Billy Bush Speaks “Yes, Donald Trump, You Said That”
Billy Bush speaks to President, “Yes, Donald Trump, you said that.” The headline, for Bush’s op-ed for the New York Times was published on Sunday night. This was one day before Bush was to appear on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Bush is taking his stance after the president is now questioning the authenticity of an “Access Hollywood” tape. The tape shows Bush and Trump speaking profanely about women – Trump bragged about sexual assault.
Trump Elected President, Bush Loses Job
While Trump was elected president, following the release of the tape; Billy Bush lost his job on NBC’s “Today” show. When the tape aired one can clearly hear President Trump talk about women, saying, “When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything…Grab them by the p****. You can do anything.” Trump made these comments as Bush laughed along.
Bush wrote in his op-ed, “He said it. ‘Grab ’em by the p****.’ Of course he said it.” Bush said the New York times and Washington Post reports about Trump doubting the tape, “hit a raw nerve in me. I can only imagine how it has reopened the wounds of the women who came forward with stories about him, and not receive enough attention. This country is currently trying to reconcile itself to years of power and abuse and sexual misconduct. Its leader is wantonly poking the bear.”
Trump has flatly denied the allegations against him. He recently repeated his assertion that he was merely engaging in “locker room talk” with Bush.
The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment late Sunday.
