What is the Best City in the US?
What is the best city to live in if you are in the US? According to “U.S. News & World Report,” which claims to be the global authority in rankings and consumer advice, the Number One Choice is Austin, Texas. This is based on job opportunities, income possibilities, affordable home prices, good schools, and feeling like a part of the community.
San Jose Seems to Have it All
Kim Castro, executive editor at “U.S. News,” says, “The best places to live ranking takes all of that into account – the metro areas that do well are the ones with strong job markets and high quality of life.”
In order to compile the survey thousands of individuals across the country were also used to determine which qualities people consider important in a hometown. Following this, data from the US Census Bureau – as well as “U.S. News” rankings of the best high school and best hospitals – were considered to make up the final ranking.
This year Austin, Texas bumped last years Number One spot which was Denver, Colorado. Why? A lot of people are moving to Austin, and the job market and quality of life scores there also saw improvement. The metro area received a higher percentage of votes in the desirability survey, in which 2,000 random Internet users were asked to choose which of the 100 metro areas they would prefer to live in.
