Ariana Grande Concert is Spectacular
Ariana Grande paid tribute to Manchester last night with a huge concert. The show, with big name acts, brought in nearly 11 million UK viewers. The real purpose was to raise funds for the victims of the terrorist attack last month. A second purpose was to show the world that the people of Manchester would not be terrorized into submission. According to Deadline it was a great success. The concert has been named the most-watched TV event of the year so far. The concert aired live on TV stations in nearly 40 nations as well as on dozens of radio stations broadcasting the event.
Ariana Grande Concert Attended by 50,000 People
The concert was held at the Old Trafford Cricket Grounds in Greater Manchester. The event was attended by 50,000 people. Free tickets were offered to any person who attended Grande’s original concert where the terrorism occurred. Overall the event raised about $3 million in ticket sales. It is expected that more donations will be forthcoming.
More than a dozen high-profile names performed at the benefit. Grande sang a number of her songs while also joining some of the bands and singers. A number of huge stars performed in video messages. Those joining the concert on-stage included Take That, Robbie Williams, Pharrell, Miley Cyrus, Niall Horan, Little Mix, the Black Eyes Peas, Imogen Heap, Mac Miller, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Liam Gallagher and Coldplay.
Grande ended the concert with her beautiful rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.”
