Rumors are Beginning to Spread That Chelsea Will Run
Has the Clinton political dynasty reached the end? Some say yes, others say no. There is talk that Chelsea Clinton, the only child of Bill and Hillary, is being groomed for a seat in New York. It is possible the daughter might run for the NYC’s 17th Congressional District once Nita Lowey decides to retire. The politician, 79-years-old, has been a respected politician for almost 30 years.
During the last few years Chelsea has taken a lead role in the Clinton Foundation. She also joined the campaign trail supporting her mother. The young Clinton is comfortable with public visibility, she is poised and she is articulate. A few months back the Clintons purchased a home next to their main residence in Chappaqua. The new purchase, for $1.16 million, is intended for their daughter, her husband, and their two children. This is in the district in which Chelsea would seek office.
Insiders say that Chelsea currently lives with her family, in Manhattan, where she is also registered to vote. They say she could easily make Chappaqua her legal residence once Lowey’s seat becomes available. Another source said, “While it is true that the Clintons need some time to regroup after Hillary’s crushing loss, they will not give up. Chelsea would be the next extension of the Clinton brand.”
